Growth Factors for Hair/Skin Regeneration

Präsentation1

Did you know that skin/hair aging starts around age 25 and that over 50% of men and women experience significant hair loss by the age of 50? acib’s cutting-edge platform offers sustainable, advanced yeast-based technology to revolutionize hair and skin regeneration treatments.

Background

Growth factors (GFs) are indispensable for therapeutic and industrial applications, from cultivated meat production to pharmaceuticals. However, their inherent instability—short half-lives and low yields—results in significant loss during production and high costs, limiting accessibility. This is especially true for hepatocyte growth factor (HGF), a promising agent in hair regeneration treatments demonstrated in preclinical studies (e.g. PMC5101615), and other numerous patented GFs for anti-wrinkle cosmetics (doi:10.3389/fbioe.2025.1527854). Traditional production systems present critical challenges, including contamination risks, high costs, and low scalability. Furthermore, stem-cell-based treatments relying on GFs are prohibitively expensive and ethically constrained, especially for large consumer markets. acib offers a sustainable alternative: a yeast-based purification-free molecular farming platform combined with advanced protein engineering techniques to develop highly stable and cost-effective GFs for hair and skin regeneration.

Technology

acib’s addresses key factors by combining:

  • Yeast-Based Bioproduction: Using yeast cell systems ensures cost-effective, animal-free, and pathogen-free production.
  • De-Novo and Classic Protein Engineering: Advanced techniques enhance the stability, potency, and half-life of GFs, enabling greater bioavailability and therapeutic effectiveness.
  • Purification-Free: Direct bioactivity testing and application of GF variants eliminates costly purification steps, accelerating development while minimizing product loss.
  • High-Throughput Optimization: acib’s screening identify ideal expression conditions (e.g. promoters, codon optimization, UTRs) and protein configurations for maximum yield and performance.

Offer

acib seeks partners to co-develop and commercialize this innovative technology. Our offer includes:
  • Collaboration with acib’s experts to refine GF production.
  • Exclusive IP rights generated through collaborative development.
  • Privileged access to our cutting-edge bioproduction technology.
The platform requires 2-3 years, during which optimized GF variants will be produced, tested, and validated. We seek industry partners to bridge this transition with a financing demand of € 400,000 – € 600,000.
