University of Natural Ressources and Life Sciences

The University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), has over 30 years of experience in Life Sciences through its activities in the fields of agriculture, forestry and food science.

BOKU contributes to ACIB with its core competences, networks and technology platforms which were established in the field of biotechnology and its long-term expertise with the most important expression systems for the production of complex recombinant molecules such as proteins, glyco-conjugates and nucleic acids.

 

Graz University of Technology

Styria, Austria

Graz University of Technology is the scientific home of seven faculties and almost 10.000 students. Competing on a world scale with other key institutions, Graz University of Technology pursues top teaching and research in the fields of the engineering sciences and the technical-natural sciences.

TU Graz contributes to ACIB, above all, with expertise human- and biotechnology, biomolecular engineering, bioprocess technology, biocatalysis and bioanalytics,  genomics and bioinformatics and biomedical and biomechanical Engineering

University of Graz

The University of Graz is an institution with a focus on natural sciences, society, social and economic science. The university is characterised by a high professional and social competence in education, research, applied science and internationalisation.

The participating departments for Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences are strongly associated to the corresponding activities at the sister University of Technology. This unique setup provides an extremely strong bond of complimentary research activities for ACIB.

University of Innsbruck

Tyrol, Austria

The University of Innsbruck has a long history of experience in modern molecular genetics techniques. The Institute of Biochemistry was a valuable partner in most government initiatives to promote and establish molecular biology methods in Austria.

It contributes to ACIB with its competences and its networks and technology platforms, which were established in the field of molecular genetics and protein biochemistry over the last few decades. Its expertise with expression systems are a major contribution to ACIB.

Medical University of Graz

Styria, Austria

Together with the education of health professionals and first class patient care, scientific research as the basis for progress in medicine is one focus of the Medical Universty of Graz. They deal with the investigation of physiological processes, decoding of genes and their functions, development of new surgery techniques and the testing of pharmaceuticals for new medicaments.

The Core Facility of Mass Spectrometry/Proteomics at the Center of Medical Research (ZMF) contributes to ACIB by providing knowledge, experience and infrastructure in the field of functional proteomics and high end protein analytics.

Vienna University of Technology

Vienna, Austria

The interaction between basic research and various fields of engineering sciences within the Vienna University of Technology (TUW), as well as in the framework of cooperative projects with other universities and research institutes, facilitate development work in almost all areas of technology.

The Institutes of Sensor and Actuator systems and  of Chemical Engineering  participate in ACIB, they represent a broad spectrum of expertise in the fields of engineering and sensor technology.


University of Applied Sciences, FH Campus Wien

The University of Applied Sciences, FH Campus Wien offers a variety of Bachelor-, Master- and Diploma- degree programmes in the fields of Technology and Management, Health and Social Work.

The School of Bioengineering, as part of the Department of Life Sciences  participates in ACIB in the supply of its technology platforms and collaboration networks that are focused on the field of metabolic engineering and metabolic flux analysis. Expertise with strain improvement and high throughput screening methods are a major contribution to ACIB.

 

CeBiTec, University Bielefeld

Bielefeld, Germany

The CeBiTec at the University Bielefeld is a central scientific institution dedicated to interdisciplinary research in life sciences. The CeBiTec houses the technology platform Genomics and the Bioinformatics Resource Facility. Specifically, the CeBiTec will perform sequence analysis and annotation of the Chinese Hamster genome sequence.

Technical University Hamburg- Harbug

Hamburg, Germany

The TU Hamburg-Harburg is a competitive, entrepreneurially-minded university with high performance and quality that feels commited to the Humboldtian principles and is oriented internationally. 

The main research field of the group of Andreas Liese covers technical and fundamental aspects of the application of whole cells and isolated enzymes in biocatalysis and environmental biotechnology.

Pavia, Italy

The University of Pavia is one of the oldest universities in Europe. An edict issued by King Lotharius quotes a higher education institution in Pavia as already established in 825. Today Pavia is a Research University, offering a wide variety of disciplinary and interdisciplinary teaching organized in nine faculties, among them natural sciences as mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology. The main research interst of Andrea Mattevi's group is  is the investigation of medically and biocatalytically relevant enzymes with interesting chemical properties.
